Palazzo Verde

Palazzo Verde brought several firsts to our country. The building is not only the first Belgian design by the renowned Italian architect Stefano Boeri, it is also likely the greenest building in Belgium and the first to make a major contribution to purifying city air. Palazzo Verde clearly bears the architect’s hallmark: refined, timeless architecture with trees and plants that fan out across the stepped façades. The landscape architecture is characterised by a remarkable symbiosis between architecture and nature, including three roof gardens. In total, the 86 trees, 1,000 shrubs and 1,200 plants will purify approximately 5 tons of CO2 per year. A vertical urban forest that brings more greenery into the city and improves residents’ quality of life. The design is Avantgarden’s translation of Laura Gatti’s unique concept, fully attuned to the location and climatic conditions in Antwerp.
