Nature restoration and water management in Lauwe

In Lauwe, a former industrial site has been transformed into a delightful residential and recreation zone. The primary focus in this area was the restoration of nature. Two streams that had previously been captured in man-made ducts have now been released above ground, where they help to carry rainwater to the Leie river. Indigenous plants flourish on the banks and the diversity of these is expected to increase over time. The planting and pavements all adhere to the guidelines for the harmonic green and park management as set by the ANB government agency for nature and woodlands. Architecture: Groep3.
