Nature restored

In Lauwe, a former industrial site has been changed into a place for living and recreation. The primary focus was on restoring the natural context of the area. Two streams that had formerly been redirected into man-made ducts are now once again flowing above ground, helping to drain rain water and wash it into the Leie river. A laneway connects the village centre with the river. The vegetation encourages linear parking along this lane, allowing those who live in the surrounding areas to fully enjoy the greenery.
